"The hotel is old. The rooms are small. It was clean. There were no cups for water. We had to go to the office to get cups. There was no hair dryer. The office said the only hair dryer they had was taken. The coffee was cold. They advertise hot breakfast but there was no hot breakfast. "

"From check in till check out everything was pleasant. The staff was super friendly and was genuinely ready to assist me with whatever my need were. I got a birthday surprise (wine and cookies) because I mentioned my reason for the stay. They told me I could have called ahead so if you have a birthday when booking please mention it so you can get a room treat. The Saltwood restaurant has a great happy hour. I didn't care for the room service breakfast meals but that doesn't take away my feelings about the resort overall. Everything was lovely and I would recommend this place for a solo trip, couples trip, girls stay in etc. Grateful to have had the opportunity to stay at the Sanctuary. The name speaks for itself. Go check them out! "

"The room didn’t have a microwave, which was inconvenient since we were traveling with a small kid. The room smelled really bad—like someone had been smoking there before us. Parking should be free. Overall, not the vibe I expect from Hilton. But the staff was friendly."

"For the price it was just right. The shower enclosure was basic, like what you’d find at your grandmas house. The water pressure wasn’t the greatest but it got the job done. There was damage to the back of the bathroom door that looked like a rush job and was sloppy. I booked it because there was a breakfast offered but we couldn’t find it - no signage. Again, it was ok for the price and it got the job done. "

"Similar to other La Quinta properties although the basic 2 queen size rooms felt smaller. Freezer inside mini fridge is so small it’s useless. There was low water pressure coming out the shower head. Other than that, not a bad stay. Would probably recommend "

"$5k/week for what is essentially a thin walled two bedroom apartment in a very high density complex. Resort amenities were available - in the main building. No room service breakfast. They offer golf cart rides down the cliffside path to the beach, but they repeatedly forgot or ignored my daughter's and my request for said ride. We were chased from the pool area by a group of about 10 local non-guest high school kids who jumped the fence and made themselves at home. This seems like a popular place for South Bay families with kids. I doubt we will return."

"This appeared to be a converted drive in motel from the 1960’s. The registration area was a 10x10 room at the back of a small gas station convenience store. In the motel room, the lampshade was broken, small tv with not great reception, furniture very old, bathroom had holes in sheetrock above shower curtain. The reviews were very deceptive; not accurate, but probably written by relatives of the owners. The male staff were very unfriendly, except for one of the younger guys. I would not stay here again under any circumstances. Spend the extra $50 and stay at a reputable chain."
